The Houston Chronicle recently published an article highlighting the woes of a 94 year old disabled World War II Veteran who is stuck in the mire of the VA system trying to get additional benefits so that he can be cared for in a nursing facility.  The article discusses the problems that WWII Veteran William Maxson has had in first, getting his disability benefits started and second, getting the VA to pay for his nursing home care.  At this writing he is still waiting for the VA to review his claim.  Currently in Texas, it takes an average of 200 days to get a decision and when you are a 94 year old Veteran, 200 days is just inexcusable.

At the law firm of Morgan & Weisbrod, we strive to make the process of applying for and receiving VA benefits less stressful for you.  Even though the backlogs of claims at the VA is tremendous and there is no way to cut through that red tape, sometimes having a professional team like the staff and attorneys at Morgan & Weisbrod overseeing your case can help relieve the stress you’re under, allowing you to concentrate on your health, your family, and getting your life in order.  The amount of paperwork, medical records, forms and other information required to prove a claim is substantial – let us keep up with all of that and work through the maze of what is the VA.

Call the experts at Morgan & Weisbrod to discuss your VA claim – we want to help you, young and old alike, get through the maze of the VA process and make sure you are not like Mr. Maxson who did nothing wrong but serve his country.
