Morgan & Weisbrod LLP
The attorneys at Morgan & Weisbrod have combined the experience of more than 70 years handling ONLY Social Security disability claims. We have successfully appealed thousands of Social Security disability cases during the past 25 years. Since 1990 alone, we have obtained more than $80 million in Social Security disability benefits for our clients. The disability claims process is complicated and frustrating, even for well-educated people who try to “go it alone” to obtain their disability benefits.

The Social Security Administration’s own statistics show that claimants who are represented by an attorney are much more likely to win benefits than those who represent themselves. Although hiring an attorney will not speed up the claims process, we monitor your claim to be sure it does not “fall through the cracks”. Most importantly, when your case is set for hearing with a Judge, we will prepare you and your medical documentation thoroughly to give you the best possible chance to win your case.

Our experience pays off for you.
Attorney Carl Weisbrod is a leader in the field of Social Security disability law and has worked since 1976 to help disabled persons win their Social Security disability benefits. In 2004 and 2005, Texas Monthly magazine named him one of the “Texas Super Lawyers.” Mr. Weisbrod is joined by Jennifer L. Fry, who was also named a Texas Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly magazine, Paul Burkhalter, named one of the “Top Lawyers for the People” by H Texas Magazine, John Driskill and Gal Lahat, all attorneys who exclusively represent Social Security disability claimants, and who bring many years of experience to the table.

We will do the legwork for you.
Morgan & Weisbrod puts a team of knowledgeable professionals to work for you. Our skilled Social Security team includes 5 attorneys, 5 paralegals, 4 legal secretarial assistants and 5 legal clerks – all dedicated to keeping your claim running smoothly. We will assist you with the routine matters associated with your claim and are able to quickly and knowledgeably answer your questions. Gathering doctors’ records, special reports and interrogatories can be very burdensome to you, but it is routine for us.

We will work with your doctor(s).
It is important to understand that the Social Security Administration is not required to find you disabled even if your doctor has told them that you are disabled. Every disability case that the Social Security Administration denies is denied for a reason – and often more than one reason, based upon the way Social Security’s complicated rules apply to your case. The most important function an experienced Social Security attorney performs is to figure out the precise reasons your claim was denied. Once the attorney solves the “puzzle” of determining the real reasons your case was denied, we will work with your doctors to establish that you are disabled within the Social Security Administration’s rules and regulations. Our experience in analyzing thousands of disability cases, reading medical records and understanding the nature of complex impairments, diseases and injuries, and our understanding of the Social Security Administration’s rules and regulations, enables us to present your case in the best possible light.

We will provide you expert legal representation at your hearing.
Social Security Administration Judges are becoming increasingly more conservative and increasingly rely upon the testimony of “medical experts” and “vocational experts” whom they may call to testify at your hearing. We have heard these Social Security expert witnesses testify over and over at our clients’ hearings. We know who they are, how they think, and what their biases are, and what they are likely to say in their testimony at your hearing. We are always prepared to cross-examine these government expert witnesses and will do so at length if they testify against your claim, to demonstrate to the Judge that their testimony is erroneous. Even in cases where we cannot persuade the government expert witnesses to change their minds during cross-examination, or persuade the Judge to disregard their testimony, we create a record that is necessary in order to win your case at the next level of appeal.

We understand the Social Security Administration’s payment process.
If your claim is approved, our payment department continues to serve you by ensuring you receive accurate payment. We will make sure that any disability benefits payable to you and your dependents are computed and paid correctly. Many law firms discontinue their service as soon as your claim is concluded favorably, yet we continue working for you until you receive your payment.
