When I graduated from high school and decided to attend college at the University of Houston, my mom was fighting through several disabilities and was finally unable to perform any work of any kind. She had to fight for her disability benefits. Without them, we would not have survived. I know the struggle and I am grateful to be in a position to help others now who find themselves in similar situations.
