Why are disabled veterans so often without homes and support? The sad truth is that many suffer from a combination of health conditions, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), paired with a physical ailment. These combinations of issues make it difficult not only for veterans to find and keep employment, but also for them to secure disability benefits and other services. Unfortunately, living in temporary shelters or the elements often only exacerbates these problems, leading to chronic homelessness.
