Disability Benefits Awarded After Federal Court Appeal

After working for 37 years in the communications industry, Ms. R finally had to admit her illness made it impossible to continue working. She was encouraged by her doctor to file for Social Security disability, and there started a 5 year fight that included appealing her claim all the way to Federal Court. The District Court Judge agreed to remand her case to the administrative level, and we won her case at the 2nd hearing. The Judge agreed Ms. R became disabled the year she had to stop working, which resulted in an award of 42 months of benefits and close to $60,000 in past-due benefits.
